Responsibilities
- Review and process pension applications and retirement claims for federal employees with precision and accuracy.
- Analyze complex retirement scenarios involving FERS, CSRS, and disability retirement programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical guidance to federal employees regarding their pension eligibility and Thrift Savings Plans (TSP).
- Investigate discrepancies in personnel files and resolve complex retirement issues efficiently.
- Ensure all weekend workload targets are met within established service level agreements.
- Collaborate with the central pension processing office to maintain consistency across federal retirement systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in federal retirement administration).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience processing federal pension claims or working in a federal HR benefits office.
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.
- Must be willing and able to work a Weekend Shift (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Proficiency with government case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
