As a key member of our Benefits Delivery and Discharge Upgrading team, you'll ensure veterans receive timely access to earned benefits while maintaining compliance with federal regulations. Responsibilities
- Administer veteran benefits programs including disability compensation, pension, and education benefits
- Analyze complex veteran cases to determine eligibility for federal benefits
- Develop and implement program policies ensuring compliance with 38 U.S.C. regulations
- Coordinate with medical professionals, legal teams, and veteran service organizations
- Prepare detailed decision documents and appeal responses for veteran claims
- Conduct outreach initiatives to educate veterans about available benefits
- Maintain accurate records in the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS)
- Collaborate with regional VA leadership to improve program efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years federal program administration experience
- Proficient with VA systems including VBMS and VBA-Net
- Knowledge of 38 U.S.C. and 38 CFR regulations
- Ability to manage complex caseloads with competing deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
