Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communication plans for VA initiatives in Nevada
- Manage media relations and serve as primary spokesperson for Southern Nevada VA facilities
- Create compelling digital content for social media and official VA platforms
- Coordinate community outreach events and stakeholder engagement programs
- Analyze public sentiment and adjust communication strategies accordingly
- Prepare official press releases and manage crisis communications protocols
- Collaborate with federal partners to align messaging on veteran services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- 3+ years of professional public affairs or communications experience
- Experience with federal government communication protocols and compliance
- Strong writing skills with samples of press releases and policy briefings
- Proficiency in digital media analytics and content management systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Knowledge of veterans' issues and VA programs preferred
- Valid U.S. driver's license for community travel
