Responsibilities
- System Design & Architecture: Lead the design, development, and integration of complex federal IT systems ensuring compliance with NIST standards.
- Project Management: Oversee project lifecycles from initiation to closure, managing timelines and resources effectively.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Implement and maintain security protocols to ensure data protection and meet federal security requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Technical Documentation: Create detailed technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for government clients and internal teams, providing regular status updates.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide innovative solutions to enhance system performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering or software development within the federal or state government sector.
- Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred; CISSP, PMP, or AWS Solutions Architect certification is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), virtualization technologies, and enterprise networking.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to government sites in the Chicago area as required.
