Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations
- Process medical documentation with 99.9% accuracy for veteran care continuity
- Coordinate weekend patient record transfers between VA facilities
- Utilize VISTA system for data entry, retrieval, and quality assurance checks
- Collaborate with weekend clinical teams to resolve record discrepancies
- Train part-time staff on record-keeping protocols during weekend rotations
- Conduct quarterly audits to ensure compliance with federal standards
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- VISTA system proficiency or equivalent federal EHR training
- VA Form 10-2850c (Application for Federal Employment) submission
- Active security clearance eligibility (Tier 1 background check)
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIT preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour weekend shifts (Sat-Sun) with weekday availability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and medical coding systems
