Responsibilities
- Operate park facilities, equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently
- Implement maintenance schedules for landscaping, trails, and athletic courts
- Coordinate and lead community events, sports leagues, and educational programs
- Enforce park safety protocols and assist visitors with inquiries
- Perform seasonal park setup/teardown for winter sports and summer festivals
- Collaborate with volunteers and community groups on beautification projects
- Monitor environmental conditions and report infrastructure needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation management preferred
- 1+ years experience in groundskeeping, event coordination, or customer service
- Valid NYS driver's license and ability to operate maintenance vehicles
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and safety standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Strong communication skills and commitment to inclusive community engagement
