Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain GIS databases, layers, and applications to support county operations.
- Perform complex spatial analysis and data modeling to solve real-world problems.
- Create, update, and disseminate high-quality maps and visualizations for public and internal use.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and emergency services to integrate GIS data into workflows.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with county standards.
- Train and mentor junior staff and assist with system administration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in GIS analysis and cartography.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro) and scripting languages (Python, SQL).
- Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
