Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain geospatial databases and mapping applications using ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret complex spatial data to support county infrastructure projects and emergency management.
- Create high-quality cartographic products and interactive web maps for public and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and public works departments to visualize zoning and land use data.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance on GIS datasets to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state standards.
- Provide technical support and training regarding GIS software and tools to non-technical staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience with ESRI ArcGIS (Desktop and Server) and proficiency in QGIS.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or SQL for data manipulation and automation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex spatial problems and data inconsistencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Valid Driver’s License is required for field work.
