Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain accurate geographic information systems and mapping products for county use.
- Collect, verify, and update spatial data from various sources, including field surveys, GPS, and remote sensing.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and emergency management departments to provide technical support and spatial analysis.
- Create high-quality maps, charts, and reports for public dissemination and internal review.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends and patterns that aid in decision-making processes.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal mapping standards and data security protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in GIS application development or data management.
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS (Desktop & Server) and/or open-source GIS tools like QGIS.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced government environment.
