Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability analyses of federal information systems to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards.
- Design, implement, and maintain security protocols and firewalls to protect sensitive government data.
- Monitor system performance and security logs to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Provide technical support and training to government staff regarding security best practices and software usage.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on system security posture and incident responses to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with external contractors and agencies to integrate new technologies into legacy government systems.
- Ensure all IT operations adhere to strict federal regulations and accessibility standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal IT systems, cybersecurity, or network administration.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCFA.
- Strong knowledge of network architecture, Linux, and Windows Server environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
