Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the City’s Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for City employees.
- Monitor network performance, traffic, and security to ensure optimal system uptime and data integrity.
- Enforce information security policies and conduct regular system audits to comply with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to deploy new technologies and upgrade existing systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network administration, IT support, or systems engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud computing services.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into clear instructions for non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
