Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and server infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and implement preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with government cybersecurity protocols, data privacy laws, and IT standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to city staff on various hardware and software applications.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party contractors to ensure seamless system upgrades and implementations.
- Document all technical procedures, network configurations, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent relevant work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a related technical role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware components.
- Experience with government IT security frameworks and compliance standards is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for site visits.
