Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment and sanitation vehicles in various weather conditions.
- Collect and dispose of trash, recycling, and compost in a safe and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sanitation vehicles and equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to ensure a hazard-free environment.
- Interact professionally with the public and assist residents with sanitation inquiries.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team of sanitation professionals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License (Class B CDL preferred but not always required for entry-level).
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible for citizenship.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
