We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pension Administrator to join the Oklahoma Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS). This role is critical in ensuring the financial security of our retired public servants. You will manage weekend operations, process benefit claims, and provide exceptional customer service to our members during off-hours.

Responsibilities
- Process Pension Disbursements: Accurately calculate and distribute monthly retirement benefits, pension payments, and survivor benefits on weekends.
- Member Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for retirees and beneficiaries during off-peak hours, resolving complex questions regarding eligibility and account status.
- Compliance Verification: Review and verify documentation to ensure all pension applications meet strict state and federal regulatory requirements.
- System Management: Monitor and update pension records in the HRIS and actuarial systems to maintain data integrity.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate discrepancies in payments or accounts and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Reporting: Generate weekly reports on weekend transactions and outstanding issues for the management team.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or a related financial role.
- Government Knowledge: Familiarity with state government regulations, public sector payroll systems, or retirement plans is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) is required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to maintain accuracy when processing large volumes of financial data.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-experts.
