Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers) under certified supervision
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and concrete work
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage system repairs, and utility installations
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Support emergency response during weather-related infrastructure crises
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (training provided)
- Clean criminal background check required
