Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, rollers, and skid steers.
- Perform site preparation tasks such as grading, trenching, and backfilling.
- Assist in the installation and repair of public utility lines (water, sewer, gas).
- Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA safety regulations.
- Load and unload construction materials using forklifts or manual labor techniques.
- Follow verbal and written instructions from site supervisors and project managers.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, road maintenance, or public works is a plus.
- Ability to pass a post-offer pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit with the ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as project demands require.
