Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including grading, excavation, and concrete work
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators, dump trucks) with precision and safety
- Perform infrastructure maintenance on roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA standards and city safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with engineering teams for project implementation
- Document daily progress and maintain equipment logs
- Participate in emergency response for storm damage and public safety incidents
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years heavy equipment operation experience
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong understanding of trenching and shoring safety standards
- Pass background check and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed
