Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and trenchers for public construction projects
- Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, and carrying construction materials up to 50 lbs
- Install and repair sidewalks, drainage systems, and public utility lines
- Maintain parks, streets, and municipal facilities with routine cleanup and repairs
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA regulations on all job sites
- Assist in traffic control and site preparation for public events
- Complete daily maintenance logs and report equipment malfunctions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Georgia driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or public works
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
