Our Public Works department is responsible for maintaining the city's infrastructure, roads, and public spaces. As a Laborer, you will work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in a variety of construction and maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general manual labor tasks including digging, loading, hauling, and cleaning.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as backhoes, rollers, and dump trucks, after training completion.
- Assist with road maintenance, including pothole repair, striping, and pavement preservation.
- Direct traffic flow and set up safety signage during construction and maintenance projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project efficiency.
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License is required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.
- Willingness to learn and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
