Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including excavation, paving, and concrete work.
- Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts, jackhammers, and dump trucks.
- Assist engineers and skilled tradespeople with site preparation and cleanup.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Collect and dispose of construction debris and waste materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and site plans.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New York State Driver's License (Class D) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is preferred.
- Strong ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Previous experience in public works or construction is a plus.
