Responsibilities
- Operate city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) for excavation and grading tasks
- Perform manual labor including trench digging, pipe installation, and debris removal
- Maintain and clean provided equipment daily to ensure optimal performance
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols while working with municipal infrastructure
- Assist in traffic control and site setup for public works projects
- Document daily equipment usage and maintenance logs
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Minimum 2 years operating heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic understanding of NYC construction codes and regulations
