Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform essential maintenance on streets, sidewalks, curbs, and drainage systems to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Winter Operations: Operate snowplows, salt spreaders, and sanders during inclement weather to keep city roads clear and safe for commuters.
- Machinery Operation: Safely operate heavy equipment including backhoes, loaders, and dump trucks under the supervision of a foreman.
- Traffic Control: Set up and monitor traffic safety devices, cones, and signage to protect construction zones and workers.
- Site Preparation: Assist in excavation, grading, and site preparation for various municipal construction projects.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor in all weather conditions; ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
- License: Valid Class C Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is highly desirable.
- Safety Standards: Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
