Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure supporting VA healthcare systems
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives including threat detection, incident response, and compliance audits
- Manage cloud migration projects for critical veteran health applications
- Provide technical leadership for system upgrades and disaster recovery planning
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize IT solutions for patient care delivery
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technology training programs
- Ensure all systems comply with federal regulations (HIPAA, FISMA, NIST)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years experience in enterprise IT infrastructure management
- Active Federal IT Fundamentals (FISMA) certification required
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and incident response protocols
- Experience with healthcare IT systems (EHR, PACS) preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
