Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain the City's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and peripheral devices for city employees.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats.
- Conduct regular system backups, updates, and preventative maintenance to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Collaborate with department heads to assess technology needs and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and incidents in the ticketing system.
- Assist in the deployment and management of cloud services and virtualization technologies.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional IT experience in a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with help desk ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow) is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and management.
- Valid California Driver's License is required.
