Responsibilities
- Network & Security Management: Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols to ensure the integrity of city data.
- Tier 2 Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and problem resolution for internal staff and government agencies.
- System Administration: Manage and maintain server environments, databases, and software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and specialized government software.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all IT operations adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with external vendors to manage software licenses, hardware procurement, and service contracts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in IT support, network administration, or systems engineering.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP, and virtualization technologies.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical staff.
- Availability: Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends during system maintenance windows.
