Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Configure and troubleshoot hardware, software, and operating systems for internal users.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data.
- Conduct system performance analysis and recommend upgrades.
- Provide technical support and training to city staff and the public.
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional IT experience.
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of Virginia residency.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+ or Cisco CCNA preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced government environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
