Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce IT security policies compliant with NIST and FISMA standards
- Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on federal systems
- Lead incident response teams during cybersecurity breaches
- Manage security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS) for real-time threat detection
- Coordinate with CISA on threat intelligence sharing and mitigation strategies
- Train federal personnel on security best practices and protocols
- Prepare security compliance reports for OMB and congressional oversight
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DHS security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 3+ years experience in federal IT security operations
- CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls framework
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
