Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) and server infrastructure.
- Provide tier-2 technical support and guidance to county employees regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local data security regulations and data privacy laws.
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices for end-users.
- Monitor system performance, conduct routine backups, and implement disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, and common networking protocols.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and data protection protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced government setting.
