Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the city’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and related hardware/software.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end-user hardware and software issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal government IT security standards and policies.
- Configure, deploy, and manage desktop environments and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and perform disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to plan and implement major system upgrades.
- Document technical processes, configurations, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related government role.
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or similar industry-recognized certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Experience with government procurement and IT compliance regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours critical incidents.
