Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues to minimize downtime for government operations.
- Administer and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive state data.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to comply with federal and state cybersecurity standards.
- Provide technical support and training to government staff regarding hardware and software usage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
- Document all system configurations, changes, and incident reports according to compliance protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration and cybersecurity.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, and network security best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Experience working within a public sector or government environment is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client interactions.
