Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to county employees, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring the security and availability of our systems. You will serve as a key liaison between technical teams and end-users, ensuring seamless operations across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and remote access tools.
- Configure, deploy, and manage workstations, printers, and mobile devices using Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and SCCM.
- Maintain and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPN).
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive maintenance to ensure high availability and security compliance.
- Assist in the administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management solutions.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement software upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Document technical procedures and create user guides to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Valid certification such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure/AWS) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced government environment.
