Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management systems.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate new technologies.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Active certification such as CompTIA Server+, VCP, or CCNA is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced government environment.
- Ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required by the State of Illinois.
