Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across municipal facilities.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software systems for city employees.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data and network infrastructure.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to non-technical staff members.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance evaluations to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for infrastructure upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License and acceptable driving record (required for travel to satellite offices).
- Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.
