The Role:
We are looking for a proactive professional to oversee our network operations and ensure 99.9% uptime for critical county services. If you enjoy solving complex technical puzzles and improving system efficiency, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and security configurations to protect sensitive government data.
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and troubleshooting for end-users across multiple departments.
- Monitor system health, analyze performance metrics, and implement necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage hardware procurement and software licensing.
- Enforce strict security protocols and compliance standards (ISO, HIPAA, etc.) as applicable.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of professional experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and firewall management.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
