Responsibilities
- Network Management: Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Provide advanced technical support to county staff, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
- System Administration: Manage and monitor server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments, ensuring high availability and security.
- Security Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security protocols, including firewall management, patching, and access control to protect sensitive government data.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, system changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Project Coordination: Assist in the deployment of new IT systems and upgrades across county departments.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent military experience.
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, help desk support, or network engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening, is required for government employment.
