Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and maintain the city's local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure high availability.
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and applications for departmental users.
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Provide technical support and training to City staff regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Perform regular system backups, updates, and maintenance to ensure data integrity and security compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft MCSA are highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license required for occasional travel to field locations.
  • Experience working in a government or public sector environment is a plus.
