Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the County's core network infrastructure and server environments.
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and compliance with federal and state standards.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate complex IT projects from conception to deployment.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for internal staff and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
