Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the city's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security.
- Oversee cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability assessments and incident response planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and deploy technology solutions that streamline municipal operations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and analysts.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party IT service contracts.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local government regulations regarding data privacy and IT standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, network administration, or cybersecurity within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Certification such as CISSP, CCNP, or CompTIA Security+ is strongly desired.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
