Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain the organization's local and wide-area network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive state data.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues across various departments.
- Perform regular system backups, updates, and patches to maintain system integrity and security compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and optimize IT workflows.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and changes in compliance with state standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware virtualization technologies.
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ or CCNA is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced government environment.
- Ability to obtain a background check and security clearance as required by state law.
