Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of state agency database systems to ensure 99.9% operational uptime.
- Analyze complex data sets to generate high-level reports for the Governor’s Office and State Legislators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new software solutions compliant with federal and state regulations.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for internal government staff and external vendors.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on critical state infrastructure.
- Document technical requirements and system architecture to ensure future scalability and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT analysis or systems engineering within a government or large-scale enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with government-specific ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Workday).
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state privacy laws, including the NC Public Records Act and GDPR.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, PMP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a strong plus.
