Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail efficiently and accurately using sorting equipment.
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along assigned routes in a safe and timely manner.
- Interact professionally with customers, answer inquiries, and resolve issues with courtesy and efficiency.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws while operating a delivery vehicle.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting packages weighing up to 70 lbs and walking long distances daily.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the vehicle and sorting facilities.
- Utilize handheld scanners and technology to track mail status and update delivery information.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license (required for City Carrier positions).
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Basic computer literacy and attention to detail.
