Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
- Conduct thorough site inspections and evaluate contractor performance to ensure compliance with engineering standards and city codes.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery within fiscal constraints.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and bid documents for public works initiatives.
- Collaborate with city officials, community stakeholders, and other departments to address neighborhood concerns and infrastructure needs.
- Enforce environmental regulations and sustainability practices in all municipal engineering projects.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required in the State of Wisconsin.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in municipal or civil engineering project management.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, including budgeting and contract administration.
- Strong proficiency with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Project) and geographic information systems (GIS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, public-sector environment.
