Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of city roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, excavators, and asphalt pavers
- Document infrastructure conditions using GIS mapping and digital reporting tools
- Coordinate emergency response during severe weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Train junior staff on proper equipment operation and safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or heavy equipment operation
- Valid Oklahoma Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Proficiency with GIS software and digital inspection tools
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends during emergencies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
