Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, such as asphalt pavers, dump trucks, and jackhammers, under supervision.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Collect and properly dispose of waste, debris, and recyclables from designated public areas.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic signs, lines, and safety barriers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site while adhering to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Respond to emergency public service calls and assist in disaster recovery efforts as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Arizona Driver’s License required; Class A or B preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug screen.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
