Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, excavation, and repair of water mains, fire hydrants, and sewer lines.
- Operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, trenchers, and pipe wrenches, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct leak detection surveys and pressure testing of water distribution systems.
- Ensure strict compliance with all OSHA safety regulations and municipal policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the public regarding utility issues, outage reports, and service requests.
- Inspect work sites to ensure quality control and proper project completion standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License and a clean driving record required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or various weather conditions.
- Experience with underground utility maintenance or construction is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a post-offer drug screen and background check.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
