Responsibilities

  • Operate & Monitor: Control and monitor chemical and physical processes in water treatment plants to ensure water quality meets all federal and state standards.
  • Machinery Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and treatment equipment.
  • Chemical Handling: Safely handle and dispense chemicals (chlorine, fluoride, etc.) following strict safety protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of plant operations, test results, and equipment performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with EPA, ADEQ, and City of Phoenix regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in emergency repair situations and water outages as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Licensure: Possession of a Class A or B Water Distribution Operator license is highly preferred.
  • Driver’s License: Valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in water treatment or utility operations is preferred but not required for entry-level roles.
