Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment for construction projects
- Perform routine inspections of municipal assets to identify safety hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during extreme weather events
- Document work activities and maintain accurate maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid California Class C Driver's License (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., backhoe, dump truck)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
