Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public buildings, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including street sweepers, snow removal equipment, and utility vehicles
- Conduct safety inspections and repair damaged public property
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with municipal safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during severe weather events
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in municipal maintenance or construction
- Valid Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
