Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate specialized equipment (trucks, mowers, trenchers) following OSHA safety protocols
- Respond to emergency service requests within designated response timeframes
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and document findings in municipal systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Provide exceptional customer service to Nashville residents and business owners
- Adhere to all municipal regulations, environmental standards, and sustainability practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance preferred
- Valid Tennessee Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in municipal maintenance or construction trades
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required (training provided if needed)
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and power equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Must pass background check and drug screening
