Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on city vehicles, heavy equipment, and public infrastructure.
- Assist in street sweeping, snow removal, and sanitation operations during adverse weather.
- Operate and maintain a variety of power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work sites comply with OSHA safety regulations and city ordinances.
- Inspect public facilities and grounds for damage or necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with other city departments to complete assigned projects on time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus but not always required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and hand tools.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
